What type of clowns ? Ocellaris or perc? If so the new one should be smaller to lower the chances of it transitioning to a female. Also be prepared to remove the new one .. Another good idea is an acclamation box to introduce them to each other

if you were to add smaller to tank ,current would most likely kill, agree acc box ,really does not matter o or perc, don't try putting a snow into a b/w snows tank

Agreed. I have one Tomato that is about the size of a quarter. I added a second one the size of a 1/2 dollar. No issues; they get along swimmingly! ;)

Depending on what type of clownfish it is male or female if the clownfish you have is a male and you put another male in there it will be an issue just like two females would be so if it’s a male and you buy a female smaller size it shouldn’t be a problem

What type of clown is the first question to answer. As all above have asked. Second, how long have you had the first clown? How big is the current clown? This will better enable us to help what your next steps should be. Also, what is the aquascape like? Any other fish? Inverts? Etc. A ten gallon for two clowns will be tough unless it is a smaller species.

Thanks everyone! It is an ocellaris clownfish.

Size and time in tank? Other inhabitants? Ocellaris will stay smaller, and are easier to pair than many, but need a bit more before I recommend a way to add another.

2 clowns should be fine just make sure they are the same type of clown and i wouldn't add anymore fish into the tank because they are territorial but anymore inverts should be fine

My tank is 10 gallons and it has been in the tank for about a month

If your fish is under 1.5", should be okay to add a larger one. If it is pushing 2", I would get a smaller one. As stated above, 10g is good and do not add any more till more mature. Inverts would be fine to add though.
