I’ve had my clown innQT with my PBT sitting in copper. Today’s the day to move my fish to my DT. I have my PBT in a acclimation box in my DT currently. I checked the fish to see if any signs of ich or anything of that nature. Fish looks healthy. When I went to look at my clown he looks like there’s spots on him. I took him out and looked closer here’s some pics. He’s been with my PBT for nearly a month and the PBT hasn’t shown any signs of ich or anything so that’s why I’m not sure what this is if it’s anything.

Has the clown been given a freshwater dip to check for flukes?
yes did that before I posted, didn't notice anything come out. He had spots just like this before going into QT, thats why I decided to QT him but didnt seem to change. Not sure if its just the fish or if its something else. If it was something else I would have thought the copper would have killed it by now.

You can see the spots better than I can. Are the spots raised a bit, cottony or cauliflower like? Or are they flat and filmy?

at this point if he does have anything the PBT does too and already infected the main display so id just throw him in there and hope its good

Might be a couple of things going on here. The copper suppresses the immune system making lympho and or a bacterial infection. No cure for the former just good food and vitamins, but the later can be treated with kanaplex or Furan2 or Sulfaplex.

Sometimes the copper bothers a fish's skin and little pimple looking things pop up. Usually takes a few weeks for the pimples to heal.

Thanks good to know! My purple tang didnt seem to like the copper when he was in there. He almost died had to take him out of the copper because he couldnt handle it. The PBT seemed to be fine and the clown seems like its face is got some damage from being exposed to the copper.

Can you tell us what kind of copper you were using and how it was being measured?
