I've had 2 clowns for about 6 weeks now I bought the same time as a Lubbock fairy wrase. I see these white spots on one clown now but no other fish. The spots I just noticed today. Yestersay I noticed the wrase is bullying the clowns though is this something I need to quarantine and treat or is this signs of the wrase aggression. Figured you guys would know

Wait for someone to confirm, but looks like brook to me :(

May want to read up here while waiting for more input:

I'll wait for a confirmation but thanks. Was really hopeing they were bite marks but knew that was a long shot. Still may try to give that wrase to the lfs. Wife thinks its ugly and if she sees it picking on the clowns is likely going to flush it. She loves the clowns.

Sorry but when we see white -ish areas and white spots on clowns, we usually lean toward Brook. Early Brook can "present" like Ich or Velvet initially. So the clown needs to be treated as posted in the link @ScooterV posted by our own @Humblefish. Fish will need med baths and then placed into a clean QT. The display tank will need to be "fallow" for 6 weeks to starve out the parasite.

Well myblfs did not have any of these they did recommend dr. G's anti-parasitic caviar and I picked it up. Active ingredient is chloroquine phosphate. Any one ever hear of it? I got everything else i need for QTso if I dont see it improving I'll have to hunt down treatment online. If I notice it getting worse I'll start FW dips waiting for delivary.

Some have used the FW dips and had a complete recovery from Brook. The trick is that the fish has to be placed into a fresh, clean QT after each dip. So it's kinda like doing TTM.

TTM? Unfortunatly went to set up the quarantine tank and theres 2 cracks in it. Just bought for this problem so going to have to exchange tomorrow after work. Really hopeing the meds my lfs recommended work. I'm worried I woulnt have what was recommended here in time. It doesnt look any worse which is comforting but really hope I dont lose these guys. I know a new lfs that opened last month I'll have to check out and see if they are better stocked. Really thought I was through this as fish have been in for awhile and only new additions have been coral. Do I need to fw dip, quarantine my wrase and gobbie too?

Usually Brook is a clownfish disease, but lately we’ve seen it jump to other species. And there’s the possibility of the Wrasse especially carrying the disease in its heavy mucus coat. So yes. If they were my fish, they be QT’d and FW dipped, given an acriflavine (Ruby reef rally) bath, treated with copper power, and general cure. Then into the display tank.

Just to conclude, I got my clowns pulled into quarintine, a fresh water dip and back into quarintine. The dr. G's parasitic caviar was the only treatment i found in town. The clown the looked the worse off only made it another day and passed the second clown who didn't look as bad stopped eating when the 1st clown passed. 2 days later it also passed. The rest of my main dt I've noticed no signs of and have left alone will be getting my quarintine tank cleaned and broke down in case I need to use it again in the future. If all goes well I'll replace my clowns in February. My wife almost cried for them she is really bummed. Hopefully the tank going fallow with no clowns the brook will pass though I'd like to have the recommended meds on hand for when I get the new ones and be able to treat quickly if symptoms do present. I'm still at a lost where this came from as they had been fine for at least 6 weeks I'm curious if this could have come from new corals since corals had been the only new thing in the tank I've had put in the tank. If it's possible may need to get an upgrade for my at tank lights and start to qt corals after dips.
