What do you think about putting a clown tang in a 6" 125 gallon tank. I currently have a pair of clowns, a falco hawk, 3 fire fish, a pink spotted goby, and a taminkii wrasse. This would be the only tang in the tank. What do you all think?

Man, those guys are cruisers. I wouldn't do it myself. 8' tank for those boys imo.

Thanks for the response. I was kind of thinking it was a little on the short side. But just thought i would see what everyone else thought.

If small enough specimen it may work in the short run but you'll need to re home shortly.

They can be prone to bullying, your current fish may not be up to the challenge.

In addition, clown tangs are very tough to keep unless your tank is 100% parasite free (you have treated every fish that ever entered your tank and ran it fallow for 72 days after an infestation).

Even if your fish don't show ich, if it's been in there it's still lingering. Hate to admit I've killed many Acantharus tangs because I assumed that like hippo, naso, and zebrasoma tangs, some of them can eventually build up enough resistance that they can manage it.

Clown tangs are extremely active and as they grow get increasingly aggressive. While they aren't as aggressive towards nontangs as they are to tangs, they will still veer toward other fish to intimidate them.

They are incredibly beautiful, and if you are drawn to one enough, they can be kept in a 125, but his tankmates may not be too happy.

Thank guys. I didnt know they could be such bullies to non tang tank mates. I think this is a fish that i will just leave in the ocean.
