Can folks kindly post their experiences with this fish? I kept Sohols before (and wouldn't again) and have the sense that the Clown is similar in care and temperament.

I have had both and they are pretty much the same fish, as long as you get them to eat, except for the color. They definitely need a very large tank if you are considering mixing it with other tangs. When they are small like 3" to 4", they will mostly play nice with other tangs. But when they get to 5" or above, especially for a male, they will go after other tangs without mercy if the tank isn't big enough. I'm only comfortable to put my sohal along with other tangs in a 560g tank, and he will still be the last guy to go in. With other large fish like angels, my experience is that it really doesn't bother them.

My clown tang's name is Diablo for a reason. He's only 3 or 4" and is a holy terror in my 300g. If I could have a do over I wouldn't have gotten him. Just my experience

What was he a terror to? How big are these others fish that he is a terror to? Was he added after the others have established themselves?

He was one of the last fish I added back in October. Hes ruthless to my fox face, fairy wrasses, sailfin tang, starry blenny, and my 2 barred rabbit. They're all in the 4" range. My yellow tang and niger trigger will put him in check though.
