@lion king I was reading an old post of yours talking about clown triggers! I was curious about their growth rate? Im looking at a tiny one, maybe 2 inches max. Would go with 4 tangs, a juv niger trigger, juv blue face angelfish, and a saddleback butterfly! Would a juv clown trigger be okay? Tangs are yellow, purple, blue, and kole.

Your tank is wayy too small for your current livestock and adding a trigger is just concerning…

Even with the six foot tank? Mine are all small now, when they start to outgrow the tank I was planning on an upgrade (cant with inflation right now). But of course I want whats best for all my fish so I will re consider the clown trigger until I get a bigger tank. Thank you for not being super rude about it! Im new to having a six foot tank, my other and first is a 70.

Never would put a tang in that cause they would be unhappy!

Also all my fish are Juvs and no where near their adult size, I will upgrade before they get that big

keep in mind, yes it may be 6ft long but it’s also only 1.5 wide. Not really a big tank. For that stock list I’d much rather prefer a 210+.

It’s your livestock and decision but I wouldn’t do it.

Ive had one and know of two persons who too have seen moderate growth- Not fast nor slow but they will attain a size easily of 8-9" and even above. Their beauty often causes impulse and with owners not realizing as they grow a change in temperament and diet requirements of chunky food

Yes Ive read of their temperament, thats why I was curious to hear from people who had them and if they are worth the risk

Just let the niger grow out and you'll be happy.

Something i struggle with, at times, is fish keeping is not like pokemon. its not just collecting the animal and moving on, its caring for it as you would your dog.

The blueface will likely outgrow the tank and get cranky, the tangs may feel cramped, may not but no sense in adding gas to a fire.

pace yourself, your hobby and wallet will thank you.

Yeah I love my fish a lot! I want them to be as happy as they can be so Ill just stick with what I have and save for an upgrade down the road for the fish I have ☺️

Was the reason I got rid of mine- Was a good boy until food hit the tank and it attacked anyone who thought they were going to get a chance to eat. My best trigger- Niger

I have grown out a few, I do consider them a slow grower. You say you have a 6' tank, a 125g could be a grow out tank that could get you as much as a few years, starting from a itty bitty 1.5". You really have to read the details of my post, I likely also stated the tank should be lightly stocked. Putting an itty bitty in a tank with some of your other fish could prove very risky; the niger, angel, and purple could all be very aggressive to newcomers.

The only one that is aggressive with new comers is my purple and yellow eye kole but they mellow out. Most people seem to think thats too much for my tank so Im leaning toward a no
