Was going through some old pictures and came across one of my misbar clown from over 2 years ago, is it normal for the coloring to change this drastically? She's basically all black now except for the face and a little on the belly.

I've seen this before. What are you feeding it? Sometimes it takes a while for patterns to emerge. How old is this fish?

Gets pellets via auto feeder 2x per day and then either frozen mysis, clams, or prime reef. Ive also seen her eat some nori that gets picked off the clip. I've had the fish for over 2 years, unsure how old it was when I got her, it had been in my brothers tank for a bit before

What kind of pellets?

I have nothing scientific to back this, but I wonder if it’s a response to the bright lights of the reef tank. Almost like a sun tan sort of thing. My female true perc has turned nearly all black as well. But the interesting thing is that at one point a year or two ago she managed to get into my overflow. Somehow she survived in the dark in the overflow for more than a month before I discovered her in there. When I finally fished her out almost all the black coloration was gone and she was all orange. But over the next couple of weeks as she was back out in the light the black coloration came back.

On the other hand, my male ocellaris has stayed completely orange for the entire time I’ve had him.

Good chance is you got what appeared to be an orange juvenile as many do change colors as they grow up. The colors tell me this was actually an orange occy/onxy with genes of a mocha clown for which the colors would make sense.
other possibility would be a Photon clown (Onyx percula x black & white ocellaris). They start off orange and white, then turn black as they mature. The biggest difference between an Onyx and a Photon is that Onyx have cleaner lines -- meaning the black and orange have a clean break.

Was sold to me as a mocha photon night elf mohawk.. lol but really I'm pretty sure my brother bought a pair labeled as something misbar off liveaquaria. Who knows though the whole designer clown thing is a bit nuts to me. The other one he bought is now part of a thruple (throuple?) In his 220 with a pair of regular occ. He thought be could get away with two pairs in a tank that size. Obviously didn't work as 2 pairs but now three are paired together (which from what I understand is an anomaly) and I took the one that was exiled and kept escaping into the overflow
