Clown will not host anemone

I tried a silicone nem and they never paid it any attention. After about 2 years in the tank, they recently moved from a corner of the tank (which is the favorite pooping spot for the tangs) up high in a large toad-stool leather.

If they don’t like the nem, you may be able to try toadstool leathers, shrooms, or frogspawn/hammer. Nems are best (I believe LTA for occys), but many wind up being hosted by various corals.

It took mine months to start but eventually (sadly) took to a torch (torches don’t make good hosts because they stress easily.)

My clowns decided to take to a hammer coral, i added in a RBTA. They are not leaving the hammer.
If they do great. If not oh well. It is what it is. We can only do so much.
I even moved the hammer. They just followed it.

I can't find the 6-hour loop either now. It was a white background, quadricolor nem and normal oss clown in the thumbnail.

My clowns eventually use the nem with no help from me. Sometimes takes 6 months tho. One day I wake up and they are in it.

That being said... the clowns I purchase are not very many generations away from the wild yet.. so they might not be total derps...

Cause some haddoni will eat occ clowns lol. Only thing I can think of besides semantics lol. I have a few of those haddoni. So with them, the nem lets clarkii host, but eats anything else.

Yeah..i get pedantic semantics...but eventually 'clown hosting the anemone' just becomes reefing vernacular that you accept and let it go. Kinda like people from Jersey say 'Down the shore' instead of 'Down at the shore'

Will a hermit with a warty sea nem work? It is not a typical relationship and usually warty nems hide under rocks at the tide line and avoid light lol.
