Clown with Yellow long poop!

Would a long yellow poop still be considered the same general sickness as long white stringy poop. I have 2 clowns that recently started to have yellow tinted poop. Been treating with metro. Stopped metro for 4-5 days and seemed to come back!

It can sometimes take 2 weeks or longer to get rid of intestinal worms/parasites. I would suggest continuing to feed them the metro until you no longer see the poop for several days. Plan on it being a while for more stubborn parasites.

Agree, intestinal worms can be very resistant to metro and/or prazi. I'm currently looking for a better way.

Thank you. I had clowns pass on me before because parasites or worms. I'm going to feed them everyday for 2 weeks with medicated food. Hopefully whatever it is does not come back. These sicknesses can be a pain! This past time I didn't see the stringy poop for days but then showed right back up. I'm also treating them in my display. Any idea what causes these worms parasites ?

I've lost fish to this before , don't want it to happen again. And I didn't have much luck treating them before with metro . Seemed to come back

You have to keep feeding the metro to them and make sure you are using Focus to bind it to the food. Stopping the meds at 5 days can lead to the parasite building up a resistance to it. It's spread by fish eating an infected fish's poop. Yuk!

I'll do a 2-3 week course of it , then if it comes back after a few days. I will QT the fish. And try different meds . Prazi or API general cure or something. That's pretty gross! But I'm wondering where the parasites come from in the first place. Like how a fish becomes infected

I figure a question like that is like asking where the flu came from. Like who was the first person with a cold or the flu?

A fish who had it was added. Most people don't treat for intestinal worms prophylactically, so they could have been added at any point. Then the poop eating starts and goodness knows who all has it at this point. lol Fish are pretty gross. You should see what they do when my Purple tang takes a poo. It's like a buffet in vegas
