Clownfish acting odd.....

Ok so... Just fed my 2 clowns.... They look fantastic, but the smaller one is acting a bit odd....

I'd call it flashing, but it seems different. Almost like a mini seizure.... This is the first I've noticed it...

I looked at him closely and see no signs of parasites or anything.


Any ideas?

If it's like a shimmy, it's a sign of submission to the dominant female. Mine does it all the time.

Completely normal if normal is ever a thing with Clownfish... as above, showing submission to the female although bizarrely sometimes the female can do it too. Absolutely nothing to worry about though.

If the pairs haven't finished their dominance ritual, this could be part of it. Typically the smaller fish will end up becoming the male or unfortunately, killed by the larger fish, but I've had situations where the smaller fish ended up becoming the female. You just never know.
