He JUST died. I pulled him out of the tank. I watched him stop breathing...

His tail looks like it’s melted away.

melting tail definitely sounds like disease to me, maybe brooklynella.

Clownfish are hardy and one just dying from being 'unlucky' seems unlikely.

Some photos of the deceased and existing fish would be immensely helpful. Melting tail sounds like infection, possibly brook. Infections can occur with parasite infections as the insertion points can become infected.

I would get a hospital tank ready.
Petco is having $1/gallon sale right now.
Get a 10 gallon tank, HOB filter (Aqueon 10), 75 watt heater and a few pieces of PVC elbow as hides.
Its unfortunate that you are not able to get Cupramine (copper) locally. Are you able to order from an online source?
If you are able to get the Cupramine, get rid of the filter media that comes with an Aqueon 10, it has carbon in it.
Just stuff filter with poly floss (pillow stuffing).

I figured out what did them in......

I was doing some cleaning in the tank and came across a few pieces of decaying Linckia starfish that I hadn't seen in so long I forgot he was even in there. I must have had a massive ammonia spike that threw all of the fish out for a loop. When I finally did take my water into the LFS my ammonia spike was likely just coming back under control.
