I got a new young clownfish yesterday and I’m trying to pair it with the other big one. Is this normal behavior?
Update the smaller one just went and hid in a corner and is sitting on the ground

Yes this will happen as existing clown becomes territorial and if a female will corner the other, steal all the food, and bully it
Sometimes a temporary circumstance and at other times long term

It's going to get absolutely walloped and cornered for awhile by the older one. Usually it passes, but female clowns have been known to kill a few potential mates before accepting one
