So, I've had my clownfish for about a month now. They are ocellaris clowns. One is orange and one black. For the time I've had them, the orange one has always bullied the black one which I thought was normal and assumes it was becoming the female and the black the male. You can see visible marks on the top fin of the black one from the orange but nothing I was too worried about. The orange one would always guard the reef and the black would hang at near the top or swim around the reef. Today i wake up and it is the complete opposite. The black one is guarding the reef and the orange staying at the top of the tank. The black keeps nipping at it. Does anyone know why they would have done this? Or why this is happening?
