So I've had 3 different pairs of Clownfish so far and all of them got this strange rage of aggression whenever I turn the moonlight on. It's really strange because they both act perfectly normal and civil with each other when the day lights are on or when all the lights are completely off. But once you turn on the moonlights the female goes insane, chases my male around the tank, biting his fins and sometimes gill if she can get him. However, if i turn off the moonlights when shes doing this... boom she stops instantly and they go back to normal. The weird thing is all of my pairs that I have had in the past had the same exact reaction whenever I turned the moonlights on. Its so weird. I was wondering If any of you experienced this before or know why this might be happening?

That's an odd one.
I could expect as lights ramp down a female might take over then nem she sleeps in and chase the male away, I'm not sure if that is what's happening or not.

What moonlights are you using?

I'm just using stock moonlights right now because I haven't got around to upgrading them yet.

Also, I don't have a nem in my tank, they don't really have a host in my tank yet except maybe part of a rock and the powerheads lol but It doesnt seem like shes chasing him out of their sleeping spot because it usually doesn't start with them near where they host or sleep

Its so strange because with all 3 pairs this exact same thing always happened and i'm wondering if there may be some correlation between the two

Hard to say for sure, but I would try to check how they react w/ any type of different moons to compare if they react the same.

I once heard a weird issue w/ some LEDs long ago when they were first coming out, not sure what your stock moons are exactly or if that has anything to do w/ it or not, but I'd be curious.

I have the fluval stock lights, very basic their either on the day setting or the antics (I usually don't turn the antics on, but whenever I do the female goes absolutely bonkers)
