I would really love to keep more than 1 clownfish in my tank. My tank is an 80g with 40g sump, running with NYOS quantum 220 and is almost 1 year old. Parameters are very stable and consistence. I have corals and few other fishes like 1 spot rabbitfish, 1 6lines, 3 pajamas cardinals, 1 female lyretail anthias, 1 golden sleeper goby, 1 roundfin clown and 1 yellow tang (living in the acclimate box for about 2 months now, because it attacked everyone else in the tank). I added a pair of the round fins clowns a while ago. I were told they paired up, but after 2 weeks or so, they fought and 1 died. I have seen tanks with school of clownfishes living in harmony. Should I added multiple ones at a time to prevent fights? If so, how many should I add?

p/s: I have an issue adding fishes into the tank (tangs, butterflies, angels, clowns, wrasses, dragonet, cardinals, damsels,...) . They will disappeared/die over night in a few days even though they were just eating the day before and nothing seemed wrong at all.

If you want to have another Clownfish, try a very small one, but be prepared for a few days of aggression from the larger Clown. It's always a possibility that a new Clownfish will get killed before pairing up.

Okay so the harem tank you need about 15 to 20 clowns at the same time with no other fish. It's very hard to pull off and I don't recommend it but it's possible

here's my issue that we should address? how many fish did you try? losses are normal but that is ALOT of fish including easy ones in there too.
what fish do you have now?
pics?
parameters?

If you are getting another to pair up with your existing clown be prepared that if they do pair up they can get very aggressive/territorial. I took out my pair of phantom clowns today after they wouldn’t let anything near the right side of my tank and killed one of my sunburst anyhias.

Acclimation boxes work really well and can show any signs of aggression from your fish. You'd be surprised by the ones that show aggression sometimes.
I will try that again and see. Thank you for the advice.

I tried couple thousand dollars of fishes over the last over half a year. Nothing works, not much things last. I have mentioned all fishes i current have in the original post. I just realized i cannot find my 6lines wrasse. So that one either in my overflow box with the other fairy wrasse or dead...

I have not success in keep any pair of clown fishes for long, so idk how it feels when that happen

that is strange. have you done an ICP test? Something has to be wrong with the water.
Yes it is very strange, that's why i am so stuck. until this point, i really do not think it has anything to do with the water parameters, because if anything wrong with that, all fishes will die not only new additions. since i do have more than 1 fish surviving, i am very convinced that it is not the water. i have also try different LPS too, still not done any better.

honestly, i see people keeping tangs and stocked with fishes. i am so jealous.

As stated above: get a small (juvenile) clown that is definitely still a male. Going to be your best bet to get them to pair up at this point, another female would be attacked immediately.

I would suspect your 6 line as the culprit for your missing fish, as they will go after new additions...but you said he’s missing as well. Very strange.

My 6lines is a very small fish. never seen him attacked anyone before. and i will need to check my overflow box, there is a fairy wrasse in there too. :(

p/s: it is not another fairy wrasse, it is actually a purple fire fish. i just caught it out.
