Just a quick question. I'm thinking about my first fish and I'm set on an ocellaris clownfish. Might be a stupid question but is there any chance of red tipped hermit crabs attacking the clownfish (I want to buy it small) while it sleeps on the sand bed at night? I just know I've had to worry about this with my snails before so I thought I'd just double check, I didn't think it could be a problem.

No worries. Your clownfish won't sleep on the sand bed anyways. In all honesty hermit crabs should not be able to catch any healthy fish. Enjoy your new fish when you get it. Just do yourself a favor and QT it before adding to your display tank.

I just cycled our tank and picked up our first pair of clowns last night. This morning when I went to work at 5am they were sleeping on the sand bed. I have a 20 gallon with 14 hermit crabs and 14 snails. Still waiting a week to add coral.
