As in the title my clown fish has always had a spot on the tank he liked but recently a huge clump of green hair algae has grown there and he bites at me anytime I try to remove it. I ordered a sea hard for my tank because I’ve tried everything to get rid of the algae but it didn’t work, I know they release toxins if provoked, injured or dead and I’m thinking because of the large amount of algae where the clown is will the sea hair try to get it and the clown bite at him? Thanks for the help

Misread the post at first. My clowns attack me any time my hands are in the tank.

Clowns are kind of dumb. They probably think the algae is their host. That being the case, ya, they might attack anything that approaches.

Sounds like he is using it like an Anemone. I don't have an Anemone either. Mine stay in a Gonipora and Zoa bed.
Do you think he will attack the sea hare if he inks like will he be afraid of the ink
