Clownfish battle arena

Been trying to mate these clowns since they went into QT Feb 11 2023. Theyve been doing good (no nipping fins or any noticeable damage to either of them) but recently they started chasing eachother around the tank a lot more often and more aggressive than before. What do you guys think about this footage ?

If you notice- the larger is doing the action which is the female and this is aggression and a display of clownfish hierarchy where the female clownfish are much more dominant than the males. They become greedy and try to eat most of the food that gets into the tank (which is one reason the males don't grow as large). They often protect their home with aggresion protecting an anemone, a nesting site, a clay pot or the entire fish tank. If it attacks your hand when you're trying to clean the glass or it won't let any other fish near its spot, you most likely have a female clownfish.

Agreed so you would call this normal behavior and let it play out? It’s just been going on so long I really am tired of watching them bicker and chase lol. Admittedly, it used to be the other way around (smaller chasing the bigger) so at least it’s the way it should be now…

Normal with clowns, frustrating for the owner. It should or in better terms MAY slow down but may continue long term
