Clownfish bloated stomach

Hey guys~

It's exactly what the topic says.

My female clown is such a pig. I've been feeding them frozen mysis and thought I'd go for some different food this time. I bought some omega one marine pellets and tried feeding them. The male waited for the pellets to start sinking so he could grab hold; but the female...she just started going up to the surface and opening her mouth whenever she could. She would finish a pellet and go after the bubbles nonstop.

After a good 3-5 mins of feeding I could tell her stomach is completely bloated. This is def due to the air bubbles.

This is my first time seeing it but I've read about it before and people say its bloated because of ingesting the air bubbles.

Anyone know any tricks to help get those bubbles out?

I'd wait for her to give a good fart. lol Just kidding...

Give her time and see if it goes down. I've never heard of a fish swallowing air bubbles and getting bloated from it. I have, however, fed a lot of food and had bloated fish from them eating every single bit of it. Piggy fish. Check her out tomorrow and I bet her stomach is back to normal.

This happens to some of my baby clowns from time to time. Since they are so small they actually float at the top on their sides. The first time I saw it thought it was dead. Usually after a couple of hours it disapates and they are completely fine.

If it's something that concerns you why not soak rhe pellets for a little before feeding? This way they will sink and you won't have a female gulping air.
