When breeding clownfish do you tend to have the same type like 2 standard clowns or 2 different types like a standard clown and a black clown? I wasn't sure if it mattered or not.

It doesn't really matter unless you are trying to get a specific variety.

Do clowns pair up if they are from the same batch / siblings? I bought a pair from the lfs and the thought crossed my mind

They will pair up if siblings, but not ideal for breeding. Best if from different parents or brought in as wild caught if breeding.

Why isn’t it good for breeding? Will they be deformed or something? I bought them together, I’m guessing they were siblings. I brought them cause I like their misbarred markings.

The Lack of genetic material means any genetic irregularities have a much higher chance of being expressed. With a tendency towards homozygous traits passing on, many of these being harmful. There is also inbred depression with the lack of diversity, meaning the offspring maybe less fit in immunology, physical traits, or mental prowess, compared to a more heterogeneous gene pool specimen.
