I’ve had my 2 clownfish together in a 10 gallon for almost a year now. I got them together at the same time so they got introduced to the tank at the same time. Recently one of them is chasing the other one a lot. Is that normal or do I have to separate them? (Ignore the algae I just came back from a month long vacation so it’s been a little neglected)

Very normal. One will become the dominant female and the other will remain a male. She will beat him up...it's the pairing off process :)! At some point you should see the male turn on his side and "twitch", that is a sign of submission. It can get nasty but doesn't usually result in anything too harmful.

Looks like he'll have enough cover to go lick his wounds.

I see thank you! was slightly worried it wasn't the mating process so i just wanted to make sure.

Absolutely! I overlooked the text about having them for year. I think after that long you would know if they weren't compatible. I don't know too much about the egg laying process or anything but she could be getting territorial to lay? I'm really not sure.

Fish look healthy though!

I see thank you! I'll keep an eye out for any eggs in that case
