Hi all,
A couple of months ago my 4 yo female got swollen mouth but healed itself after just few days.
I noticed some dark spots. She's doing well and eating normally though
Any ideas?
Thanks

It’s a type of hyper pigmentation, it occurs when clown fish get stung by corals usually a new anemone they are trying to host but it could be any corals they rub up against.

It causes no harm and should either fade or in the case of my clown just turned everything but her face and tail black!

Not pigmentation but are either puncture wounds from an urchin or hyper-melanization from anemone or euphyllia stings which will clear on their own.

I see.
That makes a lot of sense since a couple of months ago one of my BTA moved to the area where the clowns are hosting my alveopora coral.

Thanks much.
