I couldn't believe my eyes this morning as they seriously almost filled with tears when I saw my little male clownfish ripped in half at the front of my 75 gallon tank with his back half missing. I have no idea how this happened my female clown is just fine. I have a yellow tang, flame angel, dottyback, Firefish, yellowtail blue damsel, cleaner shrimp, leather Coral, Hammer Coral, acan Lord, blasto, Starburst, lettuce Coral, War Coral, button polyps, mushroom, bubble tip anemone, and Maxi mini anemone. Ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 5, salinity 1.025, Cascade canister 1000, 2 wavemakers, and protein skimmer.

I have no idea what in the tank could have done this, when I woke up none of the other fish were picking at him either. If you have any idea of what might have caused this please help I'm thinking about waiting a day or two before I pick up another small clown ( ocellaris)

Is it possible your CUC was just doing it's job?

I assume the wave makers have covers that would have prevented him from the propellers?

Yes the wave makers have covers over them. And it is possible the clean-up crew maybe started eating him once he was dead but the weird thing is he showed no signs of stress at all and has been very happy since I got him.
