Hello all!

New to the forum, but I look forward to being valued contributor! I recently purchased a black snowflake from a local breeder. Post acclimation once he was in the tank I realized his face appears damaged or deformed. I tried to get a good picture but it's difficult. I will attach what I have for now, but if anyone has any advice/info I'd greatly appreciate it. Will the face will become "normal"?

I am currently dosing the tank with Melafix

Thanks all! Cheers.

Here is a video where you can see the damage better;

It could be swelling, but I think he just has a homely face. Poor dear. Probably wont change either but like human said above.... as long as he's eating and behaving normally, I wouldn't worry too much.

Looks like he's being attacked by that other clownfish (I assume the female). Have you ever seen them lock jaws? That is how two female clownfish fight.

The white one has definitely been a little aggressive since the black one has been added. The white has homed the tank for a couple weeks so shes being very dominant.

I haven't seen them lock jaws at all, the black one is very submissive and allows the white one to beat up on him.

Both will be in a new tank in about 2 months, but for now they will need to learn to co-exhist in the tank together!

if you have a QT tank or something else setup you might move the white one in for a few days or both into a different tank where they might be on a level playing field and become pals. Disrupt the territory, or rearrange the rock work. That can often level the playing field too if the white one is being overly aggressive. Otherwise looks like a unique fish, one of a kind :)

^^Agree. With clownfish pair up, the female will dominate the male but there shouldn't be beat downs. ;)
