Hello all, I have a midnight clownfish that seems to be taking his last breaths. He has not eaten in over a week and I have tried at least 10 different foods from dried, frozen, and live. There are no visible signs of illness and I have had it since March. He has 3 tank mates. 2 are newer than he is and everyone else is eating fine. All my parameters are fine and have been consistent for months. When I first got him I had qtd him with copper for 40 days and he even ate through that time. Any idea what could be wrong with this guy? Even if he is past saving

sometimes fish just don't thrive for no identifiable reason - I know that copper can be hard on fish

Yeah but it's been months since the copper treatment. He seemed to be the hardiest member of my tank for a while. The one I never really had to worry about

2 of his mates have been in with him for just as long as he has. I got a juvenile marine betta about a month ago but it stays out of everyone's way. The tank is a 45 gallon JBJ rimless

So a little update on the clown: it is still alive and I have been able to get it to eat a couple small flakes. However, I am starting to notice that it seems to be a little fat/bloated. Can't tell if if is because he would eat everything in the past or because he is sick. Also, the tail fin is starting to look a little shredded up. I am wondering if I am dealing with fin rot? I have put Seachem Focus and Metrowhatever its called in the tank to try and combat that issue. All of the other fish are still healthy and eating well so this seems to be isolated to just the clown

It doesn't seem to be but it does lay down in the shrooms a lot. More like its lazy or tired. It gets excited when I feed but then it either doesn't eat or maybe eats a small piece of food. Often times it will take food and spit it back out

Ok everyone the clown seems to have taken a turn for the worse. I just noticed today that he has some size able discoloration in the form of white/grey blotches on one of its sides. Because he is all black it is faint with the light on but with the light off it is very clear. I've tried to take a picture but with the light off, camera phone, and a live animal it is hard to get a good pic. The other fish are eating and he still is not. There seem to be no problems at all with the other tank mates. The clown is still swimming about. Is it time to pull it out and prevent any kind of spread or should I stick it out? For almost two weeks now this issue seems to be isolated to just the clown. Just did a major water change today as well to see if that makes an impact.

the pic kinda shows the blotches. They are not bumpy and are actually much more sizable than they look in this picture. It almost seems as if he is losing some flesh. Any help would be awesome!
