I am curious if my clownfish laid eggs or not. I came home from work tonight and these were on the filter intake in my tank. Thanks for any help.

Yes, the clownfish seem to be guarding them. They are chasing the other fish off if they get near them.

I have a 10 gallon tank I am going to setup for them. I have read several was to get them out of the main tank. I also ordered some rotifers and I already have decapsulated brine shrimp I can hatch in a day or so

absolutely laid eggs. congrats and best of luck. my fish just had their 9th lay. i have yet to raise the babies

Yep, those are clown eggs. If you plan on raising them I'd skip this clutch and start feeding them really well, you'll have better results. It will also give you the opportunity to get your rots established. The light and a cup method works well though it's much easier if you can get them to lay on something you can pull from the tank. Do a search for "pickles guide to breeding clownfish". It's a really good outline on what to do.

they will develop a deep purple and change color in a few days. although they may look like they're eating the eggs the clowns will mouth them to keep the area clean.

I was wondering if they were eating the eggs or if they were just cleaning stuff off

So today is 8th day since the eggs were laid. I have everything setup for the fry. My rotifer culture is growing and ready to go. The question I have is in this picture do they eggs look like they are going to hatch? I read they get a silver color when they are ready to hatch. Unfortunately they are on my filter and I can't remove them before they hatch. So plan is to stay up and catch them when they hatch. Thanks for any info.

It looks like something is inside of them. Do you see movement?

Can't tell. They are moving in the current too much to get a close look

Good luck and please do not be too dis-appointed in the survival rate on this hatch, practice makes perfect when it comes to rearing clown fish larvae.

Thanks for the video. I am not hoping for high survival rate. I will be happy if a few make it through metamorphosis
