Hi. I recently got some new clownfish about a week ago and i was wondering how often they need to be fed. I have heard some people say once every other day and others say clowns and anemonefish need to be fed at least two or three times a day. The first couple days i fed them once a day then switched to once every other day. Now they seem pretty tired even during the day. Should i feed them more often? All water params are good and the hammer frogspawn and zoas look great.

I forgot to mention they really get more enerjetic when i walk to the tank and when i feed them

I'd feed any fish that doesn't prey on other fish (lionfish, moray, comet, etc) at least once a day.

I have always fed my clownfish a small amount once a day. In established tanks there is often other items for them to pick at like copepods

Thank you all and do you knwo what could be causing the clownfish to act so sleepy in an otherwise healthy tank? They were not like this the first couple days

There are a lot of details that I do not know, but it is quite possible that they were exploring the first few days. Unlike many fish that hide initially and then come out to explore, it is not uncommon for clowns to swim up and down the glass (and do other weird things) initially and then settle in. Keep up with the water quality and feed them well and normally both you and they will find a sense of normalcy. Good luck!

Thanks
