if you see any ramps in agression, use a breeder box to seperate them
I got them online as a pair and the shop sent me two clown that are basically the same size from what I can tell but one of them is totally submissive and I saw it do the clown shake. Should I put the aggressor in the box or the submissive if any fins start getting damaged?

Just put 1 gram of the fluke solve into my 250 liter DT (Powdered 50% praziquantel)

I have conflicting instuctions on when to redose and if I need to at all. Its a powder prazi not a ethanol bound one so it is not stripped by bacteria in 4 days like prazipro do I even need to redose it? I plan on holding it at this level for 14 days. I will do water changes like normal and top up the water change water with enough powder to keep it at the right level.

temp is 24c and salinity 34ppt using the calculator thats a 7-9 day egg hatching so leaving it for 14 days and then doing a big water change and adding carbon should cover flukes?

I took the skimmer cup off and put a zip loc bag over it to minimize splashing.

Your dose is correct. I'm not sure what the other 50% excipient is in that product, we'll assume it is harmless.

Praziquantel itself is degraded by bacteria (Disney published a study on that a few years back). The ethanol solvent just makes it worse, and increases the chance that the dissolved oxygen will dip too low.

I like to use a 9 day retreatment interval. Each fluke species is different, and there is some variability within species, but I've settles on 9 days, knowing that I may need a third treatment.

Worse today, the fish is scratching alot and I noticed a red sore on its side, I think its uronema. I am preparing a freshwater dip while I figure out what to do.

I am also going to leave it in the sump after the fw dip to let the gramma and other clown destress a bit its really starting to annoy the gramma.

That isn't likely to be Uronema. I can't recall seeing that on a clownfish before. It could be a secondary bacterial infection, possibly from where a fluke was attached, or it could be from scratching. It looks superficial in this photo, does it look deeper/more serious in real life?

FW dips won't help with Uronema or bacterial issues.

It does not look deep its more like irritation probably from the scratching like you say. Could I just be seeing it reacting to the wounds left by the flukes or possibly secondary bacterial infection kicking in?

Well I couldnt catch the fish yday so I never put it in the sump or did a FW dip and I'm glad I never. Today is alot better the fish is not bothering the gramma and is swimming around the whole tank with the other clown I have noticed them both doing the clown twitch. The red sore is not any worse, no head shaking or scratching. It ate alot and is alot less clumsy when going for food. Eyes are clear and coloration apart from the red sore is nice on all in the tank.

It looks to me like either the other clown thats fine has grown alot in a week or the sick clown has lost alot of size from expelling the internal parasites.

Fairly confident the fish is cured all symptoms gone. I am now a convert to phylactic treatment and I will not be getting any more fish untill I get a QT setup and all meds on hand. Should I fallow the tank for ich or not I'm leaning towards not because I think ich would have popped up on the clown while it was weekened by flukes if present in the tank.

As for the second dose of prazi, if I redose on the 9th day how will I know if a 3rd dose is required?

I don't think you need to fallow the tank for ich, but fluke eggs could still be lurking in there. Can you fallow it for 30 days?

The third prazi dose is always a trick - some people just do it as a matter of course.

30 days should be doable.

I guess its possible its was a total coincidence with the timing of putting prazi in the system and it getting better, but dosing prazi twice a month sounds like a good way to create prazi resistant flukes.

Prazi only controls monogeneans and cestodes. Other worms are not affected.

It doesn't produce "prazi resistant flukes", but rather, bacteria grows that quickly degrades the prazi, before it has time to work. People noted this was happening and said "the flukes must have developed a resistance". actually, it is just this bacteria. The store dosing prazi twice a month is likely no longer having any benefit (unless they sterilize the systems) because the bacteria is still there and will eat the prazi faster and faster.

Dosed the second dose of fluke solve yesterday and today the tank is almost crystal clear and the skimmer is dieing down. The last dose left the tank cloudy and skimmer going crazy untill I did a 20% water change and ran carbon, even then it was about 6 days total after first dose to running the skimmer and crystal clear water. Whatever that means.
