Clownfish has ich?….

With these blue pics giving a better view I'm going to guess early stage brook with treatment being formulin in QT tank. Fish disease is activated by stress in the tank and could be the result of your very low alk.
I have a dosing solution that could raise the alkalinity, or is this something that’s too late now?

Since that is the only fish in the tank, slowly raise alk and monitor fish for the next day or two. If he starts to get a cloudy appearance of mucous on his body then you know it's brook. I would have a QT tank ready so you can move him over for treatment.

So I think you might have double posted this ? Unless there are 2 clowns with spots from the Netherlands:). My guess is that people will answer you in the other thread

I made a post about the alk & didn’t really get a solution out of it, didn’t even know it could damage the fish… :/
I think it just creates stress for them and that lowers their immunity and allows disease to get in.

I'm going to have a rare disagreement with you:). I do not think this is brook - it looks like ich. I'm not sure why or how increasing the alkalinity will help determine brook vs ich? The QT tank - is a great idea

I believe this is Ich. The treatment would be a separate tank with copper. Curious though, what historical data suggests brook? I'm not aware of any relationship between alkalinity and disease (except perhaps with coral - drastic changes) - this I am not sure occurs that much with fish - and if there is a disease, increasing alkalinity will not cure it

Raising alkalinity is definitely important but at this point addressing the disease is critical as fixing the alkalinity will not solve the problem.

I know it’s a dutch website but is there anyone who could help me in the right direction of what medicine i need?

Could be but usually ich starts with a few simple dots that go away and return. Fish are typically normal with activity and eating. His fish is not eating and not normal activity swimming which is why I was leaning towards early sign of brook.

sadly i don’t have a QT tank available…
I will update this post with the outcome..

Fish is swimming more active right now & is moving more around the tank.

What more symptoms should i be looking at btw?

If it's ich, the dots will go away and then come back in more numbers. It's a progressive disease that gets worse with time. Brook will show up as a cloudy mucous appearance on the body with rapid breathing and death is fairly quick.

so if the dots go away it’s not guaranteed that he survived? dang…
Are there any cases of clownfish surviving ich on its own?

More pics.

Note that he is not eating.

I don't see any obvious ich, if it has it, it is a very early case. The not eating is NOT from ich though, fish continue to feed o.k. when they have ich, up until the point they are covered in spots and this one is not anywhere near that point.

The mouth open is probably due to gasping/rapid breathing. Can you please post a video so I can confirm that? Put an air stone in the tank for the meantime, it may help with that symptom, and it can't hurt.

Well I'm one of those that believes ich is in every tank and stress events can cause fish immune systems to fail and ich to break out. This is why ich is common in tangs when they are first introduced to a new tank. The stress affects them and ich pops up. I also believe that a good tank environment and keeping fish strong and healthy with quality food and vitamins can help them fend off ich and recover.

Sadly don’t have a air stone at hand.
My Kh is on the low side, could that cause the gasping/rapid breathing? It’s only 5.1

Or could it just be stressed from moving? Did you see the blue pictures? Alot of spots.

Is this video better?

The fact that i just moved him over makes me wonder about all this.
He was perfectly healthy before all this & i feed him quality pellets & alternating mysis & artemia.

I never spotted ich on him before & to see this this many spots all of the sudden blows my mind.
The fact he is not eating worries me tho, but that could still be because of the new environment

Ps, the lights just went off & he is swimming all over the tank, is my light too strong? :o

I always defer to Jay's expertise here. The video shows normal clown swimming behavior. I would just get your alk normal and monitor the fish next couple days.

So i just noticed this on my clownfish (see picture)

I have no idea how this could be, he was in my previous tank for a good while, perfectly healthy & now i moved him & he looks like he has ich?…

I’m devastated

Agree, not ich and if so, it will multiple daily on the fish. For future - Pics are best under white bright light intensity, no blue, red, etc for best assessment. May also be secondary bacterial lesions
