I have a pair of clowns in my 75 who had babies about 10 days ago. The babies are black with a white spot now. I guess they about ready to hatch. This has been cool to watch, but these clowns host a few nems in the middle of the tank. My tank has become a warzone. I understand these babies will be food shortly, but how often will the clowns reproduce?

Also, how much work is it to raise the babies?

they will deposit eggs I believe it’s every 14-20 Days .
i cant remember exactly ....

But takes 8 days to hatch .
they require a complex system of their own .
green water ( phytoplankton and rotifers as food .

the green water would be terrible on water quality ...

This was once on my wanted to do list until reading how much work is involved

Mine, every 14-17 days.
Give them 1-2 clay flower pots fo the eggs, then you can transfer them to a separate tank for success of survival

Thanks, sounds like a bit more than I want at this time.

My tank has become a warzone.

How did it work out? What sort of clowns? What other fish do you have? Were the clowns just on the defensive around the fry or did they actively search and destroy?

I have a pair of Clarkiis with some firefish, a 3-line damsel and a royal gramma. The firefish and royal gramma barley made it during the first week, but everyone seems to be happy at the moment. I'm terrified of what might happen if my clowns breed though, and I'd love to know anything you learned from the experience.

They are just Ocellaris clowns. Unfortunately, the clowns are in the middle of the tank. Anyone moving from side to side gets an escort. I have a foxface and a 6 line wrasse which continue to show interest (maybe looking for desert). The clowns are not afraid of anything. That isn't too bad. Bad news is the corals. They stripped the area of frags. Not sure when this will end. They are on their second batch of eggs.

Mine lay eggs all the time. Without taking them out and into a dedicated nursery tank, I've never seen a fry. I'm sure they make nice snacks for all the fish.

Summit City Coral in Ft Wayne, IN. Find them on Facebook. They ship.

Actually the Yoda is old school. I'm 48

I couldn't tell for sure, the pose he had it very old school Yoda, but the head size seemed bigger so that's why I was thinking Baby. Are you hoping to cover them with corals? I've seen things like skulls with corals crusted over them that looks really nice.

Was going to try some cyphastrea on the Mando and some GSP on Yoda. I should be able to peek it off if I don't like it.
