Clownfish Health

Hi everyone,

Purchased a clown from my LFS today and was wondering if this is normal behavior? Any help is appreciated, just concerned for his health. I should add, he did not eat.

pH: 7.6 (trying to raise)
Temp: 77
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 20
KH: 18 (bringing down, too high)
Salinity: 32

The water looks cloudy with debris on top. The clown seems to be gasping for air. I don’t see much flow. If it’s a bacterial bloom, that could deplete oxygen. The lack of flow also will contribute to not enough oxygenation. Do you have powerheads? What kind of tank is this. Size, filtration, age, other fish? etc.

It is oxygen depletion - create a movement in the surface/ put in an airstone. You need to do this ASAP

As both of the above, get a powerhead aimed at the surface but up high in the tank as well, this is the surface pulse from mine.

What you'll wanna do until you get an airstone and/or powerhead is take a cup, fill up the cup with tank water, and dump it back in so that you get bubbles. Keep doing that for a bit.
