Hello,
My clownfish has been acting weird and just laying in the sand, barely moving. I gave it food but it ate from the bottom when it usually comes up to eat. I see bruising on his side but I’m not sure if that’s from the other clownfish hitting him which I’ve seen recently. Thoughts?
Salinity - 1.23
Nitrates - 0
Ammonia - 0

Any help is greatly appreciated

I just did a water change of 20%
it is a nano tank 10 gallon and they are 3 months old. I feed them Bryne shrimp

Does the sick clownfish normally have normally have red eyes? I know there are some varieties that do. It doesn't look too good, especially since he's not moving and lying on the sand. Since you've had them for 3 months, I don't think disease is very likely. At this point, I'd just see what happens but it's likely that he won't make it. Make sure that the other one does not show any of the same symptoms.

Yes they are called zombie clownfish, so his eyes are that way. They are 3 months old but I just got them yesterday.

I’m going to try and go to local fish store and see what they say

The set up looks new and they are babies. Could be adjusting to conditions and environment. Not sure about the side as it could be injury or do you have any corals or nems?

I don’t have any coral or men’s. I wanted them to settle in before I got nems

Okay thank you, cycled tank for 3 weeks with dr Tim’s one and only for 3 weeks. Was cycled about a week ago but I wanted to wait another week and just got them yesterday

I am not an expert but I would look up the disease Uronema. There is a thread about it in the sticky section of this forum.

Red-ish areas like those get our attention. Sometimes they are bacterial infections, perhaps developed from an injury; or can be uronema.

I just uploaded another photo, on his first stripe it just got these dark areas

The clowns are only 3 months old, right? Did you get from breeder? I would say, turn down the flow in the tank a bit. Clowns are not great swimmers, and to adjust for babies, you may want a bit less flow. Just to start. They are fine older in lots of flow.
Feed a good variety of food. As captive bred, they will be used to flake.
