Can someone please tell me what is wrong with her tail? The male died a few days ago I think from cold water (my heater was accidentally unplugged). There are no other fish in the tank. I have emerald crabs and an urchin.

Clownfish are fairly tough to injuries but I don’t know if you are dealing with a disease or injury and possible secondary infection. I would add the Ruby Reef Rally, but I would also wait until the medication folks reply here, hopefully they respond soon?

If they don’t, medicate and check back later and often, and update the pictures of the fish to see how everyone responds. I’m not the fish medicine expert but I don’t think the Ruby will hurt for an initial response- meditation

The algae isn’t as critical as the caudal fin erosion. Dead fish can fuel algae growth, but a living fish is better than dead ones

This is likely due to aggression by another clown or tankmate and has gross deformity. I cant say how it will heal if it will but best chance will be isolation and treatment using seachem Kanaplex. This is Not typical fin and tailrot and may have occurred at lights out and emeralds would be next suspect.

Ruby rally will take too long to address this

@Jay Hemdal
Crab attack or a bacterial infection?

I'd say perhaps both - the original injury and then bacterial infection on top of that.

When the bone is exposed like that, the fin may not regrow.

I would try treating it with an antibiotic in a treatment tank (Neoplex or Kanaplex perhaps).
