I picked up a pair of clowns on friday. One is a 3-3.5" darwin ocellaris, the male is a 1.75" Percula. I really don't like Percula clowns, so I picked up a phantom clown yesterday to switch out with the Percula in hopes that it would pair up with the big female. When I floated the phantom in the tank I realized it was bigger than I thought and was worried that it maybe already be a female. I decided to add it to the tank with the other two and watch to see who would be aggressive.
Since 1PM yesterday when I added it there hasn't been any chasing or biting. I've seen the phantom twitch a couple times when the big female came up to it. Since I put the phantom in the tank, the Percula has been just hanging out alone near the top of the tank. Occasionally the phantom will swim up to it but then just swim away. The big female seems to be completely ignoring the Percula and hanging out with the phantom.
My question is: Do you think its safe to say the phantom is a male and will be okay with the big female? If so I'm gonna get rid of the percula.
Sorry for the novel
