My clownfish has been hovering here all day. My fire shrimp nests close to that area but that hole in the sand appeared today and the fish has hovered here virtually all day long. I’m not sure what it is or to do? When i come to the tank it comes to me and then when i leave it goes right back to the same spot.

Tank has been running 2-3 weeks. 2 black ice clownfish, 6 line wrasse, fire shrimp, emerald crab, few snails. Parameters tested good the other day and the strips i used yesterday said all clear pretty much.

Can anyone help or has anyone else’s fish done this??

Have you noticed any aggression in your tank? Those Six Line Wrasses can be real pills sometimes.

No it’s brand new as of yesterday. He seems great and happy. No aggression from anyone.

That may very well be the location your clowns have selected to serve as their host. If they are eating and showing no other signs of distress, that is my guess. Clowns are weird!

Did you cycle the tank befor adding live stock? I would have your LFS test your water if you don't have better testing supplies. Those test strips aren't the best.

I’ve had them test 4 times since i got it. I used turbostart to cycle tank

They hosted another spot earlier but did not act the same..
