Hi,

I got this the other day, and was told its a Picasso. I'm a little confused about the names, is there a specific name for this kind of Picasso clown?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks, but Im thinking about more like, wyoming, phantoms, designer, etc,. These are the names that I've been hearing,..

Wyoming and Phantom are just different variations. All of them are considered "designer" because they do not have the standard striped pattern. Mine (the ones in my avatar) are Picassos too.

There is a grading system that is based on if the middle and rear stripes connect (as yours do). Some end up with names like Onyx Picasso if they have a lot of deep black rather than orange. Some people also use the term "helmet Picasso" depending on the shape of the head stripe.

Yes, that makes sense, thanks. That's the info I wanted to know. - I would like to know the variant type and grade of the clown I got.

Thanks for taking your time responding Michell. I appreciate it.

From my understanding, yours would be a Grade A Picasso because the middle and back stripe are connected.

I'm not sure if it would also be considered onyx though. You could probably post it in the designer clownfish thread and get answers from someone with more knowledge.

Thanks again. I'll read the thread and post it there when I get a chance tonight.

wyoming, phantoms, frostbites, davinci, blacker ice, snowflake etc. are all ocellaris AKA false percula. Yours doesn't apply to those names. Picasso are the most common designer as far as Perculas go.

I see. So mine is just regular Picasso, and no other name for it?

Thanks.

Good to know, thanks.

I will try to find this info as well on the thread the Michelle linked, but for now, which lines do you mean than connects?

The stripe near the tail and the stripe at mid body are connected. :)
