Clownfish in QT

Any changes since yesterday? Overall sounds like you're doing the right thing.

When I add GC to a QT, I put it in some water, partially dissolve it, and add that gradually to the tank. There's still undissolved medication and sometimes the fish will act a bit freaked at the snow storm for awhile, but no more than an hour or so.

Thanks for checking in, I took the whole tank apart today, cleaned everything and put new freshly mixed water in and they look to be doing ok, moving more than yesterday. I will keep a close eye on them now, thanks for asking

Ok, just noticed the string poop on one of the clowns. Should I redose GC?

Ok, so feeding them pellet with selcon and GC/focus to help possibly. I’m concerned with the behavior of one of them... I don’t know if it’s “flashing” but it looks like this video. Maybe it’s the two of them mating into their roles...

Is there any videos of clownfish “flashing” just want to be sure I don’t need to get them back in copper.

Thanks!

That clownfish behavior is all normal. Looks like hosting behavior with the trachy, although it may not last as it's not a good choice. With a nem, goniopora or alveopora, you'll see them happily lolling around like that, just laying on their side before swimming into some nearby tentacles. That shuddery behavior between clowns is also normal, establishing dominance.

As far as possible intestinal parasites, keep an eye out for more white stringy feces. If it continues, you may need to treat. Dosing the water generally won't do the job; their food needs to be dosed. The easiest way to do this is to take one tablespoon of frozen food like mysis, 1 scoop of Seachem Focus, and 1 scoop of GC (or Metroplex). Let it thaw, and mix it all together thoroughly. Then use a stick or something similar to scoop up the shrimps, leaving most of the liquid behind, and feed that to your fish. Make sure they eat it. Repeat daily for a week or so.

Thanks for your help, I didn’t have such luck with them eating mysis in the very beginning because they are small.

I started a similar routine with pellet food and selcon mixed with the GC/Focus.... I may get some brine shrimp since smaller this weekend and mix and use that.

I don’t need Metro if I’m using GC, right? I believe GC had Metro and Prazi, just double checking.

Thanks again for the help!

Only try Metro if they won't eat food laced with GC, or if you've done a previous round with GC and still suspect worms (Metro is more concentrated metronidazole).

Sounds like you've got it pretty much covered! :)
