I've had 2 clowns in qt now for almost 4 weeks, one died yesterday, he had signs of internal parasites the day I got him. My question is the other clown he was with never showed signs on internal parasites and still doesn't. Is it possible this one isn't infected? How long should I wait before introducing to main tank?

Fish often do eat the fecal material of others, so it's likely it has internal parasites. However, if it doesn't have other symptoms, I'd add it to the DT and if you're concerned it has parasites internally, you can always feed metro and focus in their food and treat them in the display tank that way. If the fish died from something else, you risk infecting your tank.

Wouldn't I be introducing those parasites into my DT the moment the fish poops, if he has internal parasites?

Did you treat the fish with anything to resolve the parasite issue? If not, I would not move the clown to your display until the issue is fully resolved.

Yes I treated with prazi as a bath, and treated their food with api general cure/focus. Not sure what you mean until the issue is resolved.

If you've treated the food with GC and focus for 10-14 days (and it ate) then you should be fine.

I’ve twice introduced seemingly fine fish from qt to Dt w disastrous results. I now have a 30 day post treatment observational period in qt before anything goes to Dt. Even the slightest doubt means further observation and, if necessary, treatment.

What is your full quarantine process at this point?
