Tank parameters- Using Red Sea test kits
-Ammonia-slightly detectable maybe 1ppm, i just fed LRS Reef Frenzy and SA Pellets a few minutes before the tests so possible spike from that
-PH 8.2
-Nitrate 2
-Salinity 1.025
Inhabitants
-Aiptaisa Filefish
-2 Mocha Storm clowns
-Yellow Watchman/Pistol combo
-Target Mandarin
-Various clean up crew. Peppermint shrimp, Turbo snails, Hermits, etc...
-Bubble Tip Anemone
So it seems my clowns are changing sexes. My "female" has blown up in size now, huge belly. The "male" has grown but is noticeably smaller. Both eat like pigs. The female has begun bossing the male around the tank the past couple weeks. She will force him to the sand with her mouth and he will just lay there for a while. Definitely doesn't stay there all the time. Swims around, eats fine, has hosted the anemone some. While he is on the sand he doesn't gasp for air, has no signs of any disease as far as I can tell, his fins are fine and not ripped, will readily swim around, and his color is still great. It is just making me nervous that he hangs out on the sand.
I did a water change last Thursday and will do another again today out of precaution. No other inhabitants have shown any indicators of stress or disease. All the corals are happy with extended polyps. Anemone is doing well. Just not sure if he is relaxing from being bossed or if there is something I should do.
