The clown fish seem to have something but I don’t think it’s ich because when they went into qt they had it but once they went through 30 days copper it went away but came back. Anyone know what this is it looks like external white pencil tips very small. Was going to start Parzi pro in the next coming days trying to get the bigger clownfish to eat. Use lrs frozen food with selcon because of tang with hille. Very new to qt so I don’t know a lot about the parasites.

This could be early stage brook (that was suppressed but not eliminated during copper) or it could be flukes. Flukes aren't usually super apparent on Clowns.

You could treat the tank with metro, the fish that is not eating may be due to the fact there is a parasite present causing discomfort.

Metro for 10-14 days at the higher dosage instructed would be a good place to start.

So what is the high level it says 1-2 scoops per 10gallons so 2 scoops?

Ok thanks just put it in and should I wait to do a water change in 2 days before I dose it again or just hold off
No need for WCs between doses of metro as it degrades rather quickly from the water column.

So it’s been 5 days now with 2 scoops per 10 gallons. 20gallon system so 4 scoops every other day and their seems to be more of these dots on the 2 clowns and there are now some on the sailfin tang. Also there is a big open sore on the bigger clown behind his pec fin hard to get a good pic @HotRocks

The sore has been getting smaller
Have you treated them with prazi yet?

Are you certain your copper level remained therapeutic throughout the 30 days?

I was going to start prazi before this showed up and you said to do metro so that’s what I’m doing. And yes I did 2 rounds of cupramine at .5-.6 for 30 days each I tested everyday around the same time

Sure I thought you were dealing with brook based on the clownfish. I would still continue with metro and also add prazi. They are completely safe to use together. The sail fin having spots now makes me thing to have flukes present as well.

The tank is getting a little dirty should I change some water before starting parzi I know you can’t change water during prazi

You can do a WC prior to prazi dose, no problem. You can also do a WC 24 hours after the dose of necessary as well.

Ok I will both thanks for the advice and I thought flukes are only on the inside of the fish can they be on the outside of the fish too?

Absolutely. They can burrow into the fish but are actually more commonly seen externally then internally.

You’ll know right away if it is flukes as the fish will dart around the tank when you dose the medication because it causes discomfort as the worms spasm and release from the fish.

So I started to does prazi pro I did what the bottle said 1 teaspoon per 20 gallons which the tank is and it said I can dose every 3 days but the treatment should work for 5-7 days I was wondering if you dose more in a week and not just once in the beginning and that’s it?
