I have a 36g bowfront. Atm it has a maroon female that’s been in the tank for about 6 months. I found a local person breaking down his tank and offered to sell me a pair of clowns and one is a snowflake clown. Do you think If I added them to the take my maroon would stress them out and possibly kill them. I have a 14g biocube I just recently setup with out wc water so should be cycled I’d hate to take the maroon out of the tank because it’s been her home for this long what would you do.

It can all depend on what else you have in the tank! Having different kinds of clownfish in one tank isn't an issue per say, but can vary on how you introduce and the size of the tank. Clownfish tend to find a spot they like and stick to it so you could slowly introduce your new clownfish by letting them float in your tank for a bit. See what your maroon does, if it doesn't take much interest then I would release them in an area of your tank that your maroon tends not to go. Then just keep a close eye on your clowns for a week or two and see how they are doing. 36g should be plenty room for them all provided your tank isn't already full of other fish

Maroon clowns are notoriously aggressive. If possible, i would either use an acclimation box or figure out a way to remove the maroon temporarily until the snowflakes get used to being there.
Personally, I enjoy the different variations of maroons and have previously owned one. It was a jerk and didn't like any new arrivals of any species. Im not a fan of owning them anymore but I do have a snowflake and a black Ocellaris together who have taken quite a liking to each other.

Mixing species of clowns, especially with an established female will be problematic.
It is best to keep only a pair in a tank of that size.

The Maroon clown WILL KILL the the newcomers.
Absolutely, without doubt WILL KILL them. Not might kill them. Not keep an eye on them and maybe it will be ok.

The Maroon will absolutely without doubt KILL the new clowns if you put them in the tank no matter what, no matter if you take the maroon out for a month, no matter what you try to do.

Agree with all of the above. Of course there are always certain exceptions to the rules , but it will be risky. Never hear of people keeping multiple pairs unless it’s 100+ gallon tank. Good luck man!
