Hi there,

Yesterday I began to notice that my two Clownfish in my 29g BioCube were acting somewhat odd. Nothing looks awful about them, but their fins look sort of clamped? The pectoral fins are fine on both, but the dorsal and caudal fins look somewhat squished down (like they aren't even raising their dorsal fins at all). I don't see any ich or anything on them, though one of them looks like she may have a bit of blackish discoloration by her head, but that could have always been there...any guesses/suggestions? Thanks so much!

Oh, I should mention that the two other specimens in the tank, a Pygmy Angel and Royal Gramma don't appear to be affected by this.

One of the Clowns is hanging out by a rock towards the bottom of the tank and the other is swimming in place rather oddly/franticly.

Also, when were these clownfish added? Or when was the last livestock (fish, coral, invert) added to this tank? Do you QT?

Here is a video I took. Thanks so much Helen Ann and Humblefish. The Black Ice Snowflake was added in January 2014, and the Flurry was added in August 2016. The last time I introduced fish to the tank was two weeks ago, and I don't QT. :/

It's probably not very viewable in the video, but it looks like there might be tiny tiny specs on the black ice snowflake...too small to be ich though

I don't see anything in the video that worries me. Could be like you said, it's just not visible in the video though.

Oh okay! I'm very over analytical....I may be overthinking it...I'll keep an eye on it and just make sure they are okay...I'll try to get a picture too, that may still not show everything though. Thanks for your time! :)

For sure. Keep us posted and it's always ok to post pictures and ask when you're not sure.

Having learned the hard way.. I would never put anything in with those gorgeous clowns without qt first.. especially seeing as you have had them so long. Or at least one of them.. regardless.. all it takes is one fish to bring in diseases and your whole tank is gone
