2 weeks ago i put in a blue damsel as a test fish to see if i could have a hardy fish in my tank, and it has been doing good. So last weekend i got a misbar ocellaris clownfish and its been three days since i put him in and he seems to be doing fine. When i get up in the morning for school i feed both fish the new life spectrum pellet food and all i see is the damsel eating the food. Then when the food sinks the clownfish will either look at it swim to it and swim away or he will see it while its sinking and go up to it and look like hes going to eat it and then the damsel comes up and eats it. I don't know if he eats the sunken food on the sand bed while I am at school. Any thoughts on what i should do?

Try cyclop-eeze, mysis or find out what the clowns were eating prior to you acquiring them. It's not unusual for clowns to go days without eating after initial introduction to a new tank.

I agree I wouldn't be too upset that you don't see the clown attacking the pellets but live food/frozen live food is pretty irresistible. Also, damsels, aside from being hardy, are pigs and for that reason are great for aiding the early stages of the nitrogen teeter-totter.

Some healthy clownfish simply don't acclimate well, especially if they recently arrived at the pet store. I wouldn't be worried on day 3, but by day 5-6 I'd start to get a little concerned. Clownfish have low stores and at some point they'll essentially start to consume their own liver. I'd offer filter foods for now, such as Phytofeast and Oysterfeast...he'll struggle to refuse the Oysterfeast especially.
