So I got a question. In my anemone tank I have 2 clowns. The look the same just different marking and that have bonded and are practicing egg laying. I'm my cube j have 2 clowns one it differently shaped then the other. One is stubby a little and one is longer looking. But aren't bonded. I have had both pairs of clowns the same length. About 6 months Could shape be affecting them? Should I trade the male in for another smaller male. The female is about 2 inches and the male is about and inch in a half

Typically a female has to be 2 years of age, a male six months.

When you say bonded do you mean spawning?

The male should be smaller than the female, that is normal.

Images of both pairs will help to clear up any identification questions.

With regard to spawning, is that the goal? There are certain interventions you can try such as feeding more (within reason) extending the photoperiod (leaving lights on longer) and raising the temp of the tank a degree or two.

this the 2 clownfish, the whiter on is the female and trying to get the orange one to submit but I just won't. Should I trade it in for a baby

I can not view the image when I click on it. Try a photobucket account.

Clowns have dynamic relationships that change daily. Unless one clown is chasing the other down, biting fins, or one clown is hiding in the corner or breathing at the surface than I would not be too concerned.

Both clowns look fine, I do not see frayed fins or signs of disease. Clowns are aggressive towards one another, it's the nature of the beast, sometimes best buddies and the next min, "nope you can not share this anemone with me". Look for the severe signs of aggression I posted previously.

Thanks for the image.
