Hi everyone,

At the moment I have already one orange percula clownfish pair in a 300L aquarium. I am now thinking of adding another black and white clownfish pair to the aquarium.

How would you guys go about this and which clownfish pair would you add?

Looking forward to read your suggestions.

"black and white" clowns are ocellaris, the vast majority of the time. They are often mislabeled as percs.

As for mixing a single ocellaris with a perc, assuming one male and one female shouldn't be an issue, my pair have been together for over 2 years now.

I think he's saying he wants to add another pair of clowns to the tank so there is a total of 4 clowns in the system. If so I strongly on courage you not to. I've had clowns kill a third clown within minuets, and I've had clowns get along with another pair, but when one pair matures they kill the others. The risk is too great.

You are right --- the darn flu has me a bit out of it.

300 liters is about 80 gallons. IMO/E, not nearly big enough for more than one pair of clowns. While it might work in the short term, once a spawning pair forms all bets are off.

I would have to say sorry man, but it will be a blood bath for sure! Even adding the same type as a pair is still risky with a big tank because if you think about it when they come across each other they wont leave the others alone. I have been in the same boat or should I say tank and wanted another pair or just some more clowns and no madder if I add 1 or several it won't be possible.
