quick questions ... i just lost my female clownfish ... do i need to get a female replacement or the male would be ok on his own

The male will be fine on it's own. BUT, over the next few months, he will become a she. That's right, your male will become a female.

Then you need to be careful about ever getting a 2nd clown. Two females are VERY unlikely to co-exist in a tank.

Should I just get female for him? Or wait few months then introduce male

Either way should work. You could get any clown now (male or female) and you'll be OK as only one of them will change sex. Once one does, the other one won't.
