Hello all. I just noticed today on my male mochavinchi clown that he had this black spot just under his pectoral fin. He seems to be doing everything he would normally do. Nothing out of the ordinary. He just happened to swim by me and it caught my eye.

I have seen some other posts on here about black spots and it could be a sting from a coral or possibly black ich? Hopfully someone has some info that could be helpful.

This was the best pick I could get where the spot was clear. This is the only one.

With this photo, my guess would be hyper melanization. If you can get a closer more in detail photo we can probably give a better answer. My clowns have this all over them from choosing poorly.

Not black ich. I would just keep an eye on it for now. As suggested, that's very likely just a spot from an anemone.
