Hi i want a clownfish pair but i dont want baby clownfish, at least not yet. Are they guaranteed to mate?
Any eggs that your clowns may lay will not make it in your display tank anyways. Only way they live if removed from display and put into there own tank and fed properly

There are some good threads in the fish breeding forum. the High level summary is that it is a decent amount of work, if you get younger clowns you will have time to read about it and decide if it’s something you want to try

They are nothing like guppies. I had a pair for 4 years and they never had babies. I currently have a pair I bought as juveniles 15 months ago and it's still hard to tell if one of them has assumed the female role yet. They're just buddies!
