The pair of clownfish have started getting slightly aggressive to each other 2

How can I help him ?

His tail keeps floating up

How long has this been going on ?

He’s always done the tail floating thing I think but I’ve only noticed him being rlly fat today

But he’s doing the tail floating thing a lot more

You state one of your clownfish is fat...is this fish larger than your other? If so it would be she and perhaps she may be getting to lay a huge clutch of eggs providing they have paired.

If it were a swim bladder issue buoyancy would be out of wack and not lying to the bottom that much.

No , but he does swim abit tilted and wobbles

Could it be dropsy ?

I'm hoping it is not a bacterial disease such as dropsy and there is an obvious bloat which was cause for my first question.

Several factors encourage the bacteria becoming an issue. Unhealthy water conditions such as parameters, aggression in the tank just to name a couple.

Do you know the parameters? How long have the clowns been in the same tank? You mentioned aggression between the two which could weaken the immune system. If they've not been together long and nearly the same size there could be a lengthy submission session or worse.

Please keep us updated and again, my hopes are they have just become a mated pair and she has a ton of eggs. Fingers crossed for ya.

One final question. Have you seen its poop? Normal or white and stringy?

They have been in the tank since November last year and there’s about half an inch in size difference. The one which is rlly fat is the slightly smaller one but the two clownfish keep hanging out in the same spot and the fat clownfish had a spike thing on its stomach earlier . Is it possible that the smaller one has turned into the female ? Also, last week there was a nitrate spike but the parameters are all fine now .

I’m also sure that there a pair because when the lights go off they sleep together and they swim together a lot 2 .

I would start with Prazipro.

What is that ?
