Have you ever had any hatch ?? Or tried to artificially raise them ?
They do hatch! You can actually see their little eyes in the eggs before they hatch. I have not witnessed the hatching though. Maybe at night? I have not tried to collect eggs or raise them. I don't think I could give away plain Ocellaris babies if I was successful!
Here people still buy them . The experience of raising them is fun and challenging at the same time . You could always sell or trade at your local lfs.
I agree it would be fun. I had fun raising freshwater Angelfish 20 years ago. There are a couple people locally that raise designer clownfish and it seems like they always have way more than they can get rid of.

That’s where the internet comes in handy and clubs like this . I used to breed discus back in the day and never had a problem selling them to local fish stores , clubs, etc.
You might be right, but I think selling discus and selling clownfish might be different. People stock 6,8, 10 discus in a tank and clownfish is usually just a pair. Discus are sensitive and not hardy in the wrong hands. I feel like they will get replaced more often. Also, I'm pretty sure the freshwater market is quite a bit bigger than saltwater. Just my thoughts.
Have you been to the reef shows ??? The last five-10 years or so , saltwater has gone off the charts as far as sales from fish , coral, and equipment .imo I’ve never seen the fresh water to the extent of what salt water is today !!! Oh and as sad as it is a lot of people kill their saltwater fish and coral too and end up replacing them .
